Introduction to text blocks (SmartParts)

Modified on Tue, 10 Nov, 2020 at 2:30 PM

eformity.net allows you to create standard text blocks (Smart Parts) that users can insert in their documents and e-mail messages. These standard texts can also contain variable information, such as names and dates. By combining the text blocks with corporate style documents, such as letters, you can create innumerable standard documents. When the basic corporate style document is modified, all the derived documents will automatically be modified as well.

Before you can create any text blocks, you will need to make the side panel visible in Word. Follow these steps to do this:

  1. Open the Settings screen. (Click here to see how this is done)
  2. Check the box for Enable SmartParts panel

After closing the main menu, you will see a side panel on the right. This window will standard be opened in Documents.

To select the SmartPart section you can click on Documents and select SmartParts.

The next window will be shown. In this window the default SmartParts Library is displayed. This is always the first Library availlable in the list.

To navigate to the list of Libraries, click on the arrow or the name in the gray line of the current Library. Now the current Library folds in and the list of Libraries is now displayed. You can now click on another Library to select it.
