The Outlook signature settings tell the system where to find the relevant data. This is necessary for generating the Outlook signature. Not so much for the content of the signature, but for determining which signature someone gets. To open the signature Settings screen, open the e-mail signature screen, as described here, select the desired signature and click the Settings button.
The option to change the database settings for the email signature can be found under the cogwheel.
Click on My subscription and in the next screen select Email settings. Click on Edit to change the settings of the datasources used by the email signature.
The following screen opens:
Employee datasource
The system needs to know where to find the User profiles. In most cases this will be the DXEmployee datasource.
Employee variant field
If there are variations on the e-mail text, you can use this field to indicate which variation should be used. The e-mail signature may have a different end result, based on a variation, see also the Unit variant field below, for variations based on the settings in the unit datasource.
Unit datasource
The system allows for the creation of several signatures. The unit datasource determines which of these signatures should be used for which unit. If no signature is chosen in the unit datasource, the top most signature is used. The user profile determines which organisation, and thereby which signature, is to be used.
Unit signature field
This is the field in the unit datasource in which the email signature is chosen.
